Faith, Family, Fire.  A wise, retired and very seasoned firefighter gave me this advice upon my graduation from my Fire Academy.  It is simply said, but takes purpose to maintain order.  Words of the wise, words to live by.

Please share a short story about an important challenge that you've overcome (in your life, hobby, or profession

An important challenge I have and continue to Overcome is PTSD.  Firefighting in general is tough, and performing Life Saving Skills in a Metro area is even tougher. Simply said, some things a person shouldn't see, but it's my duty, and I truly love what I do. Life is a balance and I find my balance by spending time with my boys, my wife & my hunting!

So overcoming a time that I was at my lowest, with much thanks to my community and family support I am privileged to pay it forward by being a Peer Support member for my Local & Regional Departments.
