Yoonhee Kim

Hello! My name is Yoonhee Kim and I am a professional golfer. I became a pro after graduating from UC Davis where I played division one golf. In the time that I have been a professional, I have won one tournament, the Lady Outlaw GCU Championship. I will also be playing on the Women's All Pro Tour in 2022. Hopefully, I will also be playing some Symetra Tour events as well! I love that I am a part of the Ororo Squad. Ororo helps me stay warm while I play the sport I love!

Where were you born?

San Ramon, CA

What’s your favorite thing about ORORO?

I think that it is amazing that the clothing is heated. As a golfer, it is very hard to swing while wearing a lot of layers, so to have one article of clothing that can keep me warm while I can move freely is amazing.

What are the best 3 words to describe yourself?

I had a hard time thinking of three words to describe me. So I asked a couple of friends and they both said these three words.

Kind, Compassionate, Outgoing

I always try to treat people with kindness. You never know what people are going through.

I always try to see other people's points of view and put myself in their shoes. I think this is why my friends say I am compassionate.

I love talking to people and meeting new friends. My mom says I have the gift of gab so I would say I am pretty outgoing!

Please share a short story about an important challenge that you've overcome (in your life, hobby, or profession):

During college, I struggled in a few of my tournaments. I practiced so much that I was physically and mentally exhausted. I sprained my wrist and felt extremely lost. I was playing with so much fear and did not feel like myself. Luckily I had my friends, my parents, and my trainer that helped me get through it. I let those people in and leaned on them for support. I went and saw a counselor who helped me mentally, and I took the mental steps to be in the right mindset. I also took some time off to let my wrist heal. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and remember the bigger picture. I realized how lucky I was to have people who love and care about me. I also felt so blessed that I get to play the sport I love.
