i was looking for a way to reduce bulk with my current hunting ensemble - this is the thinnest heated vest they make. i got xl so i could later skin them a flannel then the vest then a lighter-weight hunting coat. when its 32 all day i will still opt for the massive coat that never lets in the cold - but its huge and sometimes overly warm! we will see how it goes. so far, the testing i’ve done with the vest has been good enough to keep it. we’ll see how long the battery lasts - they say 4 hours which is shy of a stand sit but not by much. my routine is 4 hours on then 2 hour lunch then back out 4 more. so - if it charges all up over lunch. i should be good. again, we’ll see!!

Just what I was needing.
(Open-Box) Men's Heated Softshell Vest - Lower Back Heating (Battery Set Not Included) Black / 3XL
This is my 3rd Orono vest. My other 2 are the quilted and puffer versions. I ordered this as I needed something lighter and thinner for work. The Production area is cooled, climate controled, but is usually a bit chilly for me. The other 2 vest types were a little bit too thick and insulated for me..... I was getting to hot in them. This vest is a lot thinner and on the low setting gives me just the right amount of heat and the battery that I have last for around 7 1/2 hours so it's on pretty much my whole day.
My cons as usual with Orono products..... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go to a metal zipper and ditch the plastic ones. I can't believe that the cost for a metal zipper would impact the price of your product that severly.

I love Ororo wear but this vest is huge compared to my other and since it was open box I cannot return so I am stuck with a vest I can’t wear.

I ordered a vest in size large following the sizing directions on the Ororo website. When it arrived, I unpacked and put it on. It felt too big but I wanted to see how it felt when I was fully dressed for work, where I intended to use it. I wore it the next day and indeed it was too big. So, I was going to return it. Then I found out the return policy is "BRAND NEW and UNWORN with tags." Since I had taken the vest out of the bag and worn it for 1 day, it was unreturnable. This policy makes sizing dependent completely on the chart provided by Ororo since I could not try on a size L vest like I could in a brick and mortor store. The policy precludes any more purchases from Ororo by me no matter how much I like the products.
