No, the apparel cannot generate heat without a battery. The battery provides the power needed for the heating elements to generate heat. If you don't have any ororo battery, we strongly suggest you to buy with the battery set for heating.

I took a leap of faith, knowing that I have enjoyed all of my Ororo gear and grabbed these pants! I put them on and heated them up and can tell they are gonna be a game changer this hunting season. Lightweight, insulated, and the heat feels amazing.

While I ordered them for hunting and as yet have gone hunting I can’t give a good review. Upon inspection they fit well enough. My main concern is whether they are tough enough.
The outer fabric seems a little light. I’ll truly know this December after hunting.

I haven’t worn them yet, but did try them on, charged and connected battery, seem to be warm in the right places. Hadn’t used them hunting yet, however I do need to let you know I ordered a 36, (bigger than I normally wear) however I received a size 34, my wife opened them already and tossed the packaging away thinking that is the size I ordered. They do fit though.
