No, the apparel cannot generate heat without a battery. The battery provides the power needed for the heating elements to generate heat. If you don't have any ororo battery, we strongly suggest you to buy with the battery set for heating.

Great Vest (but size up, runs small)

I was glad I read anothers review on sizing up (thank you). I have a Medium in another vest so I ordered a Large and it fits great. I feel like maybe it's a half size off compared to my other ladies soft shell vest but can't wear something that's too small and it fits just fine. I like the long butt covering length. I love these vests.

Love the idea of a heated long vest but was disappointed to see that it wasn't shaped as pictured. I recommend it for those who like a boxy fit but it doesn't work for me.

High quality vest, and yes does work well so far. This is my second time purchasing the very same jacket as I love the length. First vest did not last and unsure what had happened there despite my taking very good care of it. So, I am hoping this one last longer. I work in refrigeration/freezer and I can say it works good.

Battery length
Tribeca Women's Heated Long Puffer Vest Black / M
The product itself is a very good quality however the battery life was very disappointing. After only three uses the battery died in the middle of a cold hockey rink while my girlfriend was wearing it. Right in the instruction booklet it says charge every six months. That was very misleading and disappointing. However the quality of the product is very good.
